Utah has one of the youngest populations in the country, and its housing market has felt the pressure of fast growth. St. George in the southwest has grown rapidly as well.
The Utah Division of Real Estate licenses sales agents and brokers, and sales agents must work under a principal broker. Utah uses a state-approved purchase contract, and closings are typically handled by a title company. Ask your agent to explain the contract's deadlines for due diligence, financing and appraisal, since missing one can change your options.
Salt Lake City and Sandy offer established neighborhoods near the mountains, while West Jordan has more newer subdivisions. Saint George appeals to retirees and remote workers.
