Editorial guidelines

These guidelines explain how listings, guides and market data on Realtor US are created and maintained.

Who we list

We list real estate agents, teams, brokerages, commercial real estate firms and REALTOR® associations operating in the United States. Professionals are found through public business pages and public search interest — for example, people searching for an agent by name or for realtors in a particular city.

What we publish

  • Only business information the professional has made public: name, brokerage, market city and how they describe their services.
  • No home addresses of individuals, no private phone numbers and no personal social-media content.
  • No invented reviews, ratings or sales figures. If we do not know something — such as office hours — we say so instead of guessing.
  • Specialties shown on a profile (for example “Waterfront & Lake Homes”) are taken from the professional’s own description.

Market data

Home values and rents come from Zillow’s public research data (ZHVI and ZORI). We show the month the data refers to on every chart. Payment examples are illustrative and use clearly stated assumptions.

Maps

Pins on state and city maps mark the city where a professional is listed. Profile pages use Google Maps to locate the business and offer directions in Google Maps, Apple Maps and Waze.

Guides

Guides are drafted with the help of AI tools from primary sources such as state real estate commissions, the National Association of REALTORS® and federal agencies, and checked before publishing. Each guide shows the date it was last updated. Guides are general information and not legal or financial advice. Profile and city texts are written only from the data on the same page; see our methodology.

Advertising

Ads help keep the directory free. They are labeled “Advertisement”, never placed inside a listing and never influence which professionals appear or in what order. Ads are not shown on legal pages.
